We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
