And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
