AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
