Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
