And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
