When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
