And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
