And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
