He it is Who sendeth down water from the sky, whence ye have drink, and whence are trees on which ye send your beasts to pasture. 10 Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect. 11 He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise. 12 And all the [beauty of] many hues - which He has created for you on earth: in this, behold, there is a message for people who [are willing to] take it to heart! 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 He placed stablisers in the earth so that while it revolves you live undisturbed, and rivers and tracks so that you may find your way; 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is the One who can create equal to the one who cannot create anything? Why, then, will you not consider? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 And those upon whom they call beside Allah have not created aught, and are themselves created. 20 They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected. 21
