It is He who sends down water from heaven, which provides drink for you and brings forth trees on which your herds feed. 10 [and] by virtue thereof He causes crops to grow for you, and olive trees, and date palms, and grapes, and all [other] kinds of fruit: in this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think! 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright, 15 and He has set up other landmarks. By these and by the stars people set their course. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal. 19 But those whom you invoke, other than Allah do not create anything they are themselves created. 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
