Do not kill your children because you fear poverty. We will provide for you and them. Killing them is a great sin. 31 Do not draw near to fornication, for it is an indecency, and its way is evil. 32 And do not kill anyone which Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause. And whoever is killed (intentionally with hostility and oppression and not by mistake), We have given his heir the authority [(to demand Qisas, Law of Equality in punishment or to forgive, or to take Diya (blood money)]. But let him not exceed limits in the matter of taking life (i.e. he should not kill except the killer only). Verily, he is helped (by the Islamic law). 33 Do not get close to the property of the orphans (unless it is for a good reason) until they are mature and strong. Keep your promise; you will be questioned about it. 34 And correctly measure when you measure, and weigh correctly with the scales; this is better, and has a better outcome. 35 And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). 36 Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height. 37 The wickedness of all this is hateful with your Lord. 38 This is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not take another god apart from God, or you will be cast into Hell, reproved, ostracised. 39 What! Has your Lord then favoured you with sons and Himself adopted females from among the angels? What you say is monstrous. 40
