They question you about the spirit. Say: 'The spirit is from the command of my Lord. Except for a little knowledge you have been given nothing' 85 And if We willed We could surely take away that which We have revealed to you by inspiration (i.e. this Quran). Then you would find no protector for you against Us in that respect. 86 [Thou art spared] only by thy Sustainer's grace: behold, His favour towards thee is great indeed! 87 Say, "If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants." 88 And We have certainly diversified for the people in this Qur'an from every [kind] of example, but most of the people refused [anything] except disbelief. 89 And say: "We will not believe you until you make a spring of water gush forth from the earth for us; 90 "Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst abundantly; 91 or, until you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces, as you have claimed, or, as a surety bring Allah with the angels in front; 92 "Or you have a house of adornable materials (like silver and pure gold, etc.), or you ascend up into the sky, and even then we will put no faith in your ascension until you bring down for us a Book that we would read." Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Glorified (and Exalted) be my Lord (Allah) above all that evil they (polytheists) associate with Him! Am I anything but a man, sent as a Messenger?" 93
