T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Compassionate on the Throne is established. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah - there is no god but He. His are the most excellent names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 He said: Cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24
