He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And ease my task for me; 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember you often. 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
