'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 and ease my task for me. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
