And when We said unto the angels: Fall prostrate before Adam, they fell prostrate (all) save Iblis; he refused. 116 Then We said: "O Adam! Verily, this is an enemy to you and to your wife. So let him not get you both out of Paradise, so that you be distressed in misery. 117 Verily, you have (a promise from Us) that you will never be hungry therein nor naked. 118 And you (will) suffer not from thirst therein nor from the sun's heat. 119 Then Satan whispered to him saying, 'Adam, shall I point thee to the Tree of Eternity, and a Kingdom that decays not?' 120 Then the two of them ate the fruit of that tree and their shameful parts became revealed to each other, and they began to cover themselves with the leaves from the Garden. Thus Adam disobeyed his Lord and strayed into error. 121 But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and gave him Guidance. 122 He said: Go down hence, both of you, one of you a foe unto the other. But when there come unto you from Me a guidance, then whoso followeth My guidance, he will not go astray nor come to grief. 123 But as for him who shall turn away from remembering Me - his shall be a life of narrow scope and on the Day of Resurrection We shall raise him up blind." 124 He will say, “O my Lord, why have You raised me blind, whereas I was sighted?” 125 The Lord will say, "This is true. But just as you forgot Our revelations that had come to you, so, too, are you forgotten on this day." 126 Thus We shall reward the transgressor who denies the signs of his Lord. But the suffering of the life to come is more terrible and more lasting. 127 Is it not a guidance for them (to know) how many a generation We destroyed before them, amid whose dwellings they walk? Lo! therein verily are signs for men of thought. 128
