Say: "Who can guard and protect you in the night or in the day from the (punishment of the) Most Beneficent (Allah)?" Nay, but they turn away from the remembrance of their Lord. 42 Can their gods protect them against Us? Their gods have no power even to help themselves, nor are they safe from Our retribution. 43 Nay, but We gave these and their fathers ease until life grew long for them. See they not how we aim to the land, reducing it of its outlying parts? Can they then be the victors? 44 Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned. 45 And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers." 46 And We shall set up the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection – therefore no soul will be wronged in the least; and if a thing is equal to a grain of mustard seed, We will bring it; and We are Sufficient to (take) account. 47 And indeed We granted to Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron) the criterion (of right and wrong), and a shining light [i.e. the Taurat (Torah)] and a Reminder for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 48 Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive. 49 And this is a blessed Reminder (the Quran) which We have sent down, will you then (dare to) deny it? 50
