The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
