Al-Naba' 1 of 2
The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
