The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
