The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
