Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
