The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
