Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Till a limit known? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
