Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Proclaim, “Go on waiting – I too am waiting along with you.” 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
