The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 Allah, (there is) no god but He, the Everliving, the Self-subsisting by Whom all things subsist 2 He has sent down the Book to you with truth, which fulfils [the predictions] in the Scriptures that preceded it: He sent down the Torah and the Gospel 3 in the past as guidance for mankind; He has [also] sent down the Standard by which to discern the true from the false. Surely those who deny God's signs will suffer severe punishment. God is mighty and capable of retribution. 4 Indeed, from Allah nothing is hidden in the earth nor in the heaven. 5 It is God who shapes you in the wombs as He wills. He is the only Lord, the Majestic, and All-wise. 6 He it is who hath sent down unto thee the Book, wherein some verses are firmly constructed - they are the mother of the Book, and others consimilar. But those in whose hearts is a deviation follow that which is consimilar therein, seeking discord and seeking to misinterpret the same; whereas none knoweth the interpretation thereof save Allah. And the firmly-grounded in knowledge say: we believe therein, the whole is from our Lord. And none receiveth admonition save men of understanding. 7 (They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower." 8 Lord, You will surely gather all the people for a Day that will come in which there is no doubt' Allah will not break His promise. 9
