S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad, and by the Qur'an full of exhortation! 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Each of them who rejected the Messenger become subject to Our punishment. 14
