Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created of themselves? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or are they planning a conspiracy? So the conspiracy will befall only upon the disbelievers. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
