Say: Who guards you by night and by day from the Beneficent Allah? Nay, they turn aside at the mention of their Lord. 42 Do they have some Gods who protect them from Us? Neither can they save themselves nor save their friends from Us. 43 Nay, We gave the luxuries of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them. See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will overcome. 44 Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned. 45 And yet, if but a breath of thy Sustainer's chastisement touches them, they are sure to cry, "Oh, woe unto us! Verily, we were evildoers!" 46 And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account. 47 We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and a light and reminder for those who take heed for themselves, 48 Those who fear their Lord without seeing Him, while they are afraid of the Hour. 49 And this is a blessed Reminder which We have revealed; will you then deny it? 50
