We answered the prayer of Noah who had prayed to Us before and saved him and his followers from the great disaster. 76 We helped him against the people who said Our revelations were mere lies. They were a bad people and We drowned them all. 77 Tell of David and Solomon who both passed judgement on the field into which some people's sheep had strayed [and grazed] at night. We bore witness to their judgement. 78 And We made Solomon to understand (the case); and unto each of them We gave judgment and knowledge. And we subdued the hills and the birds to hymn (His) praise along with David. We were the doers (thereof). 79 We taught him the craft of making garments that fortify you against your own violence. Are you thankful? 80 To Solomon the raging wind ran at his command to the land which We had blessed. We have knowledge of all things. 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful." 83 So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who serve Us. 84 Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl: they were all patient and steadfast. 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy; indeed they are among those who deserve Our proximity. 86 Dhun Nun went away in anger and thought that We would never have power over him, but in darkness he cried, "Lord, You are the Only God whom I glorify. I have certainly done wrong to myself (so forgive me)". 87 Thereupon We accepted his prayer, and rescued him from grief. Thus do We rescue the believers. 88 Zachariah prayed, "Lord, do not leave me alone without offspring, although you are the best heir". 89 So We answered him, and We bestowed on him Yahya and We made sound for him his spouse. Verily they were wont to vie with one another in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek. 90 Into the woman who maintained her chastity We breathed Our Spirit and made her and her son a miracle for all people. 91 Verily this community of yours is a single community, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 And others have shattered their works into pieces among themselves; all have to return to Us. 93
