The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
