The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There is no life beyond our life in this world: we die and we live [but once,] and we shall never be raised from the dead! 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 'What' they said, 'are we to believe in two mortals like us, whose nation are our worshipers' 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
