The chiefs of the people who did not believe and denied the life to come, though We had given them good things of this life to enjoy, (said): "He is only a mortal like you. He eats as you do, and drinks as you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 (The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies." 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 No nation can go before its term ends nor stay back. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?" 47 So they rejected them, calling them liars, and they too eventually became of those that were destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 And We made the son of Maryam and his mother a sign; and We sheltered the twain on a height: a quiet abode and running water. 50
