Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 and believe in His messages 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them would have been destroyed. We sent them the Quran but they ignored it. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
