O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
