Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 “Do not implore this day; you will not be helped by Us.” 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
