Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 Leave them in their perplexity for a time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
