'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
