1/2 Hizb 35

Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 Then they cut their affair among them in regard to the Scriptures; each band in that which is with them rejoicing. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or do they say that there is madness in him? Nay, he has brought them the Truth and it is the Truth that most of them disdain. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
