(Before this,) We sent Moses The Book, and appointed his brother Aaron with him as minister; 35 (Then) We said: 'Go to the nation who have belied Our signs' And We utterly destroyed them. 36 And the people of Nuh, when they rejected the apostles, We drowned them, and made them a sign for men, and We have prepared a painful punishment for the unjust; 37 And (also) 'Ad and Thamud, and the dwellers of Ar-Rass, and many generations in between. 38 We administered warnings to each of them, and then destroyed them completely. 39 Surely they have come by the city that was rained on by an evil rain; what, have they not seen it? Nay, but they look for no upraising. 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 He had almost led us astray from our gods, had we not remained firm in our faith with regard to them. " The time is not far when they will see the torment and realize who had strayed far from the truth. 42 Have you seen him who has made gods of his own desires? Would you be a guardian over him? 43 Or deemest thou that most of them hear or understand? They are but as the cattle; nay, they are further astray from the way. 44
