And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
