The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 We destroyed the others 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
