And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor a true friend; 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
