Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 “And forgive my father* he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
