The Thamud accused the messengers of lies. 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: fear ye not? 142 Truly, I am a trustworthy messenger for you, 143 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 "Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] in the midst of what you have here and now? 146 “In gardens and water springs?” 147 and cornfields and date-palms laden with juicy fruits? 148 carving comfortable houses out of the mountains? 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 do not obey the bidding of those who are given to excesses, 151 who corrupt in the earth, and do not reform' 152 They replied: 'Surely, you are one of those bewitched. 153 You are nothing but a man like us. Bring us a token if you speak the truth." 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. 155 "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." 156 But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent. 157 So the torment took hold of them: verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 158 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
