Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 and that “some of us are upright and some of us are otherwise for we follow widely divergent paths”; 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 (It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation). 19
