The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
