The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
