Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 weigh with an even balance 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
