The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
